Drip Tonic is a calm, mobile-first experience, and we think a calm experience should be reachable for everyone, whether you’re browsing on a phone in bed, navigating with a keyboard, listening through a screen reader, or just deeply dislike spinning animations.
1. Our commitment
We are committed to making driptonic.ca usable for the widest possible audience, including people with visual, motor, cognitive, and hearing differences. Accessibility is part of how we design and build, not a checklist added at the end.
This commitment extends to the in-home visit itself: our RNs are trained to adapt the setup for clients with mobility, sensory, or anxiety considerations. If something would make your appointment more comfortable, write to us before booking and we’ll plan around it.
2. Standards we follow
We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, the international web accessibility standard referenced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and most Canadian organisations.
Drip Tonic is a small business and is not strictly required by AODA to meet web accessibility standards. We choose to follow them anyway, because every customer deserves the same calm front door.
3. What we’ve done
- Semantic structure: headings, lists, and landmarks are marked up properly so screen readers can navigate the page meaningfully.
- Keyboard navigation: every interactive element can be reached and operated with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and the arrow keys. A skip-to-content link appears at the top.
- Visible focus states: the element you’re focused on is always clearly outlined.
- Color contrast: body text and interactive elements meet or exceed the 4.5:1 ratio. Our terracotta accent has been darkened from the original brand value to pass on cream backgrounds.
- Alt text on images: meaningful images are described; decorative ones are marked so screen readers don’t announce them.
- Reduced motion: animations honour the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting on your device. If you’ve turned that on, our site quiets down with you. - Readable typography: body text is at least 16px, line-height is generous, and our display serif (Cormorant Garamond) is paired with a clean sans-serif (Manrope) for readability.
- Forms with labels: every input has a real, visible label, not just a placeholder.
- Mobile-first layout: designed for 390px screens first, scaled up. No horizontal scrolling, no tiny tap targets.
4. Known limits
We’re honest about what isn’t finished yet:
- Our booking experience runs on a third-party platform (JaneApp) whose accessibility is governed by their team, not ours. We’ve confirmed JaneApp supports keyboard navigation and screen readers, but we cannot guarantee every interaction inside their flow.
- Some of our editorial photography uses low ambient lighting for mood. We include rich alt text to describe these images, but the visual atmosphere may not translate perfectly to text.
- We do not currently provide a dark-mode toggle. Cream-on-wine and wine-on-cream are the two intended palettes.
If you encounter something that should be on this list, please tell us. We will add it.
5. Alternative ways to book
If the website or JaneApp doesn’t work for you for any reason, you can book directly with us:
- Email: wellness@driptonic.ca. Tell us your preferred date, location, and the blend or goal you have in mind. We’ll handle the rest by phone or email.
- Phone: 647-787-6818. Speak with one of the founders.
- Through a support person: a family member, caregiver, or assistant can contact us on your behalf, with your consent.
6. Tell us when something doesn’t work
If you experience a barrier on driptonic.ca, please write to wellness@driptonic.ca with the subject line Accessibility feedback. Include:
- The page you were on (or the link)
- What you were trying to do
- What happened (or didn’t)
- The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if you’re comfortable sharing
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 3 business days and resolve clear issues within 30 days. We will let you know our timeline either way.
